The T515 includes the latest type of connection, the High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) with High Definition Copy Protection (HDCP) to allow direct transmission of uncompressed HD video and audio in a pure digital format. HDMI is not just another connector as it can transmit encrypted picture data at rates up to 5 gbps thats 5 gigabytes per second! This very high speed demands precision in every aspect of the signal path, including the connecting cable.
Standard 480i and 576i (480/576 lines interlaced picture) can be upsampled to resolutions as high as 1080i (1080 lines interlaced picture) thanks to the video processing chip. This allows you to make the most of the high resolution capability of todays HD projectors and flat panel displays. (The TV display must be HDCP compatible to take advantage of this advanced feature.).
Audio performance is fully up to NADs high standards, and the T515 is a superb music player for CD and two channel DVD-Audio. With full support for CD-R and CD-RW formats the T515 is right up to date. Even MP-3 and WMA files can be played back on this versatile player, with one CD-R capable of up to 10 hours of continuous music playback! Whichever audio format is chosen, the signal will be processed and decoded with typical NAD precision. The analogue output stages are fed from separate regulated power supplies, and utilize audiophile quality parts to retain all the dynamics and detail contained in the original recording.
Equal attention has been paid to the video performance capabilities: Keeping signal paths short and direct to minimise any interference, the 14 bit 108 MHz Video DACs are capable of reproducing the finest of picture details, where black is truly black and with vivid colours extremely faithful to the original.
The Component Video output (Y, Cr, Cb) sports Progressive Scan to get the most out of the latest high-end digital video monitors and projectors with significantly increased resolution when compared to standard, interlaced video. For video displays without Component Video input, the SCART (which supports RGB 230V only) and S-Video connectors offer superior video performance.

"Very nice picture from all outputs and gorgeous styling. Audio playback is impressive, with a multichannel soundtrack sounding wonderful through a decent amp and speaker system. We couldnt discern any difference between the optical and electrical outputs, since both result in a fine, aggressive performance on the thumping Cars soundtrack.
